THE MINI-MOLD TECHNIQUE
Button Bonder Instructions
1. Etch and prepare the tooth surface as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
2. Insert the Button bonder tip into the handle.
3. Pack Light Cure Resin into the tip so that the tip is completely filled.
Note: It may be necessary to use a small composite tool to push the composite into the undercut areas of the tip.
4. With light pressure, press the tip on the tooth where you need a button.
5. When the light cure resin is fully cured (typically 5 to 20 seconds depending on light intensity and material) slowly peel off the tip by rotating is sideways so as not to damage the button or the tip.
6. Button Bonder Tips may be cold sterilized.
Wire Bonder Instructions
1. Etch and prepare the tooth surface as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
2. Measure the length of the wire necessary to extend to the middle of the end teeth to be bonded. Use a soft temper stainless steel wire up to .020 or form a ultistrand wire to the correct contour of the teeth to be bonded.
3. Insert bonder forming tip into the handle, fill tip with a fast curing Light Cure Resin.
4. With light pressure, press the tip on the tooth and engage the wire into slot, parallel to the alignment ribs.
5. Cure with curing light (typically 5 to 20 seconds depending on the light intensity and material).
6. Bond the central teeth first and proceed distally.
7. Wire Bonder tips may be cold sterilized.
Bite Bonder Instructions
1. Etch and prepare the tooth surface as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
2. Insert Bite Bonder tip into handle. Note: Slightly moisten tip with water, then insert tip into handle.
3. Fill the tip with a fast curing Light Cure Resin.
4. With light pressure, press and hold the tip on the tooth making sure the small tab on the bonder tip is facing the gingival.
5. Cure with curing light (typically 5 to 20 seconds depending on light intensity and material).
6. Remove the tip by slowly pulling straight back.
7. To insure that the bite ramps are equal on both teeth use a bracket height gauge/marker and mark the lingual of the upper centrals where you want the top of the bonder tip to be located.
8. The Bite Bonder tips may be cold sterilized.
Habit Control Spike Bonder Instructions
1. Etch and prepare the tooth surface as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
2. Insert Habit Control Bonding tip into handle. Note: Slightly moisten tip before inserting handle.
3. Fill the tip with a fast curing Light Cure Resin.
4. With light pressure, press and hold the tip on the lingual of the first tooth requiring the spike.
5. Cure with curing light (typically 5 to 20 seconds depending on light intensity and material).
6. Remove the tip by slowly pulling straight away from the tooth.
7. Refill the tip and follow the same procedure for each tooth requiring a Habit Control Spike.
8. The Habit Control tips may be cold sterilized.
Bracket Bonder Instructions
1. Etch and prepare the tooth surface as recommended by the adhesive manufacturer.
2. Insert the bracket bonder tip into the handle.
3. Pack Light Cure Resin into the tip so that the tip is completely filled.
4. With light pressure, press the tip on the tooth where you need a bracket.
(Note: the bracket slot runs perpendicular to the alignment rib.)
5. When the light cure resin is fully cured (typically 5 to 20 seconds depending on light intensity and material) slowly peel the tip away by rotating it sideways so as not to damage the button or the tip.
6. Bracket Bonder Tips may be cold sterilized.
